Invisalign is clear and practically invisible, so nothing gets in the way of your new smile. No wonder Invisalign is the choice of over half a million people!
Would you rather have a mouth full of wires and rubber bands or clear removable aligners?
Invisalign® is a popular choice among adult orthodontic patients and Dr. Kiran Kaur is a specially trained and certified Invisalign® dentist in Pittsburgh, PA who treats many of those patients already.
What is INVISALIGN?
Invisalign treatment is an innovative orthodontic technique designed to discreetly straighten teeth without traditional metal brackets and wires. Using a series of clear plastic aligners, the Invisalign system works to gently and gradually guide one’s teeth into an ideal position over the course of a few to several months. Due to the inconspicuous nature of this treatment option, Invisalign is popular in our practice, especially among adults of all ages. From business professionals to retirees, many adults have chosen Invisalign to address alignment concerns, without the attention traditional braces can draw.
How does Invisalign® work?
As a Pittsburgh Invisalign® Dentist Dr. Kiran Kaur straightens teeth using a series of aligners. First, an impression of your teeth is taken so that a series of aligners can be created in a dental lab. The aligners themselves are made out of a thermoplastic material that is strong and at the same time flexible in order to be comfortable when worn for long periods of time. The material is virtually invisible.
The aligners should be worn for 22 hours a day and every two weeks; they need to be switched out with the next one in the series. Over a period of months, the aligners will slowly move teeth into place, making one minor adjustment at a time that is targeted to specific teeth. This helps your teeth to be comfortable as they are moved into position at a manageable pace. Once you are done wearing your aligners, your teeth should be perfectly straight.
